Little Prick Acupuncture is run by Roger Allen who holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture.

Roger is a member of Acupuncture New Zealand. All practising members of Acupuncture NZ are regulated health practitioners, registered with the Chinese Medicine Council of New Zealand (CMCNZ), hold a current Annual Practising Certificate and are recognised as ACC treatment providers.

Roger uses a holistic approach drawing on the ancient wisdom of acupuncture and Eastern and Western medicine to diagnose and treat his patients. Treatments may include a mix of acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping and Tuina (Chinese massage).

Acupuncture, when used by a trained acupuncturist, is a safe medical tool with few or no undesirable side effects. Patients may use acupuncture as an alternative to, or in conjunction with, Western pharmaceutical or surgical treatment.

Many modern Western medical professionals are now embracing Chinese therapeutic techniques and incorporating them into their treatment protocols, although only registered members of the CMCNZ can now legally use the term "Acupuncturist". Roger on occasion works alongside Physiotherapists, Chiropractors and Osteopaths to combine therapies, providing his patients with the best possible outcomes.
